I appreciate all the information that everyone has provided on the Savage's prepensity to leak oil. I have the directions printed out and in hand, but I am unable to find a redesigned part.
I assume that the plug that we are talking about is the cam cover plug. It is a black rubberized plug slightly larger than a quarter and maybe 3/8 of an inch deep. It looks kind of like a rubberized bottle cap. The Suzuki original part number is 09241 - 30008.
The parts guy at the Suzuki place is unable to find any information on a new plug, in fact the 2001 Savage has this same part. Suzuki Tech support says the same thing.
Does anyone have the part number for this elusive miracle cure, or perhaps a super handy picture like Ron so kindly provided for the white spacer problem? Is this even the right part?
